HotScotch offer a vibrant blend of traditional and contemporary Scottish dance music. An exciting mix of accordion, fiddle, and drums will provide just the right atmosphere for a cracking night.The band is based in Edinburgh, but travel all over Scotland and the North of England. Their lively style of playing and raport with the audience will have the dancers up on the floor all eveing. All of the ceilidh dances can be called by the band to ensure all can join in whatever their experience.
The band caters for all audiences and can include a Disco package to compliment the Ceilidh.
All of the band members are outstanding musicians in their own right and have played at events all over the world.
Paul Chamberlain - Accordion, is an accomplished player and has won many competitions with his playing. He has made appearances at music festivals around Europe and also perfomed on live television in Russia and Finland. His lively style of playing brings a fresh feel to the music.
Vicky Gray - Fiddle, is part of the long tradition of fiddle players from Shetland. She teaches singing, violin and traditional fiddle for Perth and Kinross Council, the Adult Education Programme and Edinburgh Council. She has performed Scottish fiddle music at concerts and festivals all over the world.
Jim Walker - Drums, was born in Saskatoon, Canada and came to Scotland in 1984. His skills as a player and teacher of pipe band drumming, percussion and kit drumming have long been recognised and he adds inventive and powerful rythmic structure to the band. For several years, he toured with Ceolbeg and has also played with Ally Bain & Phil Cunningham, and Sandy Brechin.
