» Profile
Cancionero came together in 1997 to perform the songs and dance music of the Middle Ages and also early Renaissance music from the Tudor court. Using a range of fascinating period instruments our professional performances are enjoyed by children and adults alike.Programmes are available with 2 to 4 performers, and offer a unique opportunity to experience this bright and enjoyable repertoire. Our carefully researched programmes use readings to complement the music and create an added sense of history, but we always seek to entertain! We are happy to devise programmes to suit any audience, or to link to the history of a location.
Performances in period costume, encouraging audience dancing, at Penshurst Place and Tudor workshops for schools have been a regular feature. The group has also been featured on Radio Kent and on Radio 4s Open Country.

"...the wonderful musical entertainment you provided to an enthralled audience at Barming"
